Position Summary
The Cardiac monitor technician in a cardiac rehabilitation (cardiac rehab) setting is responsible for monitoring and interpreting patients’ heart rhythms during and after exercise, stress tests, and other cardiac evaluations. Reports to the Cardiology Clinic Director. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety and guiding recovery.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Graduate of an accredited school or training program.
- Maintains current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs.
- Will acquire EKG certification in the next year of employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of MGRMC staff, management, and providers.
- An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
- Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
- Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience
- Certification in EKG or obtained in the next year.
- Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems
